“Vlaanderen heeft nog nooit zoveel geïnvesteerd in mobiliteit en dat is goed nieuws voor projecten die al lang op zich lieten wachten”, zegt Marc Hendrickx, Vlaams Volksvertegenwoordiger en schepen in Mechelen. “N-VA is al lang vragende partij om het kruispunt van de N16 aan de Keerdoksite aan te pakken. Nu is er eindelijk een concreet perspectief”.
“Onze regio heeft nood aan deze nieuwe investeringen in infrastructuur”, aldus Marc Hendrickx van N-VA Mechelen. “We willen het aantal verkeersdoden terugdringen en de economische ontwikkeling alle kansen geven door te investeren in goede wegen voor iedereen. Met de ontwikkeling van bedrijventerrein Mitiska en het onderhoud van de flyover aan Technopolis kan dat. Het loonde die dossiers aan te kaarten in Brussel.”
De planning van het Vlaamse Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer, een dienst van minister Weyts, is één lange lijst van belangrijke investeringen in de toekomst van Vlaanderen. Ook voor Mechelen zit er goed nieuws in:

“Dit is belangrijk voor Mechelen”, stelt Hendrickx tevreden vast. “Deze investeringen gaan een voelbaar verschil maken. In totaal wordt € 21 650 000 geïnvesteerd. We zijn blij dat Vlaanderen meer gaat werken aan de weg”.
